Olive & Wilde in 2023

A year full of little moments

It’s got to that time where most of us in the wedding industry take a deep breath and relax as the wedding season comes to an end. We’ve just been away to Disney World in Florida with the kids and thinking back to the weddings of 2023 is helping with the holiday blues.

2023 was such an incredible year for Olive & Wilde. We want to take this opportunity to thank all of the brides and grooms that have made this year soo special. We have made some great friends and been very lucky to witness some really special moments - hidden kisses underneath the head table, a first dance in a church and when Fabio’s groomsmen won that all important acca are just some of the things that sum up how fucking awesome our job is. These small, fleeting moments are what we both love to capture - the things that set YOUR day apart from everyone else’s - unstaged, unfiltered, uninterrupted.

We’re really excited to see what 2024 has to offer. The next two months are about spending some special time with Teddy and Rafe before wedding season kicks off in 2024.

Best Suppliers of 2024 for Olive & Wilde

Venue - The Barn at Botley Hill - We went there for the first time this year when we shot Meg + Fabio’s wedding. Honestly, where to begin?! It was both luxurious and rustic. Each space was unique and incredibly thought out. Most importantly this venue was designed with photographers in mind!

Food - Dublicious Catering - We met Chris the chef whilst shooting Maddie + Charlie’s wedding at The Chair Museum in Wycombe. Chris is a personal chef who caters for weddings, BBQ’s, private dinners and deliveries. There was no bullshit with Chris, just insansely good BBQ food, …like really good!

Music - Futures (Modern, Soul & RnB Party Band) - We saw these guys play at Bella + Stuart’s wedding at Stoke Place. Such a tight band and they let Stuart join in on guitar and play an Abba song for Bella (big husband points!)

A wee little shoutout

We also need to shout out the guys at Stingray Events who we met at Stone Siding Wedding Venue for Meg + Fred’s wedding this Summer. Stingray Events create bespoke styled experiences for your wedding - the images below are what they did for Meg + Fred. I mean, just WOW. The friendliest, most fun guys we’ve met, they are such a find!

Some time away with the boys

In January we were very fortunate to get to take the boys to Disney World in Florida. Chaos ensued as we dragged a 4 year old and a 2 year old on a 10 hour flight. There was jet lag, they were very overstimulated, but still we had the most incredible two weeks as a family. Teddy really came out of his shell and was determined to go on everything he could. It was some much needed time away and it really was a magical holiday. We’re excited to take the boys away more now as we plan our next trip after this next wedding season.

Honor did a really cute reel from the trip too which you can find on our Instagram page - @oliveandwildephotography FOLLOW US!
