Rustic Romance: A Cowboy-Inspired Wedding at Chiltern Open Air Museum
Ellie + Jamie
Ellie + Jamie got married last August and their day was split between the Chiltern Open Air Museum in Buckinghamshire and then a post-wedding reception at Home Farm Bed & Breakfast in Milton Keynes. The day was everything Olive & Wilde are about; intimacy, close family bonds, unique stories and an individual style to the day. Sometimes weddings can become more style over substance to the point where you lose a sense of what the day is actually about, and that is the people who are coming together. Whereas these guys nailed the style of the day without losing a sense of what was most important!
Getting Ready
Both Ellie + Jamie got ready separately; Jamie in the flat they both live in, and Ellie closer to the venue. All of Ellie’s closest family were over from Canada and it was just the most perfect morning.
A Chiltern Open Air Museum Wedding Ceremony
There are lots of places within the museum where you can get married. Ellie + Jamie chose the Northolt Barn which, once a grade II listed building, offers a very unique and defined look to your wedding ceremony. The barn is seeped in history, and like most barns, only has natural light entering from one particular direction. This creates very strong and directional light which can create really cool looking images.
Milton Keynes Garden Wedding Reception
After the wedding ceremony, everyone headed off for Milton Keynes. Ellie and Jamie’s reception was held in the Buckinghamshire countryside at Home Farm B&B just 15 minutes from Milton Keynes. There was lots of greenery, chickens and a beautiful garden marquee. As you are probably aware by now, this style of wedding is our absolute favourite so me and Honor were in our element!
An evening full of dancing and personal serenades
We were absolutely balling our eyes out when Ellie surprised Jamie and serenaded him with a song by his favourite band, U2!
